PE 7/12 The Optimism Bias

We like to think of ourselves as rational beings.

This belief that the future will be better than the past and present is known as the "optimism bias." Such blind faith helps motivate us to pursue our goal.

Yet a "glass is half full" attitude is irrational and can lead to unwanted outcomes.

7/12 Outdoor Clothing

As I grow older, I have to admit I’m more concerned about my health.

I just threw on a cotton T-shirt, a pair of sweat shorts and running shoes.

I felt a little out of place because every hiker was fully dressed in expensive outdoor clothing.

PE 7/11 Philly Cheesesteaks

You must be famished after that long train ride. Wanna grab a burger at Mickey D's?

PE 7/10 Men's Suits

Honey, men's suits are not like the dresses you wear. The styles last for a very long time. Good fashion never goes out of style.

Sweetie, you bought that suit just before we got married... in 1993! It has done its duty! I think it can retire, don't you? It's rather outdated.

I don't have to say anything, Dear. Your big, fat belly is doing all the talking for me.

A few weeks ago, I bought a new suits for my brother's wedding ceremony. I rarely buy a suit since I don't have to put that on often as often as one or two times a year.
My wife insisted that my old one went out of style and has done its duty. After all, I went to buy a new suit.
