PE 3/27 Apologies and Action


1. out of line: 선을 넘은, 주제넘은 짓을 하는
ex> I think you need to apologize. What you just said was out of line.

2. so much air: 바람과 같은 것, 아무것도 아닌 것.
ex> A promise is just so much air if you have no intention of keeping it.
ex> Everyone knows their product release schedule is just so much air. They never release anything on time!

3. shine someone on: (slang)  to ignore someone or continuously not follow through with an engagement.  ~을 무시하다, 속이다.
ex> Don't believe what he tells you, he is just shine you on!
ex> "Where were you last Friday? You never called me back. I hate it when you shine me on like that."

* backed up: 뒷받침하는
* lose one's temper: 화를 내다; 흥분하다  ex> Please don't lose your temper. It's not good for you.
* not in the least: 전혀, 조금도 ~ 아니다  ex> I did not in the least expect to see you here.
