12/3 Going to the Doctor

DIALOG>> You should go see a doctor.

You don't look well.

I barely got out of bed today.
* get out of bed: 잠자리에서 일어나다.

I'm burning up with a fever.
* burn up with a fever: 열이 많이 나다.

You should go see a doctor.
* go see a doctor: 병원에 가다.
ex> He had to go see the doctor for his nasty cold.


RESPONSE>> Talk about when you had to go to the doctor.

The last time I had to go to the doctor was when I had a bad cold.

I was totally fatigued and aching all over.
ex> I'm aching all over after my workout yesterday.

My throat was killing me as well.
ex> She was killing me with all her boring stories.

It was very sore and itchy.

I had a nagging cough all day.
* nagging cough: 쉴 새 없는 기침

I was also losing my voice.
* lose one's voice: 목소리가 안 나오다.
ex> We all lost our voices because we were screaming at the concert.

I took some medicine at home.

I got an injection and received a prescription.
* get an injection, = get a shot: 주사를 맞다.
ex> You should get an injection to fight off the flu.

the doctor told me to stay in bed and take it easy.
* stay in bed: 안정을 취하며 쉬다.
ex> My mother told me to stay in bed all day today.
