6/22 Talk about eco-friendly cars.

These days, it's important to go green, and that goes for our cars as well.
* go green: 친환경적으로 변화하다.

Hybrids run on both gasoline and electricity.
ex> What kind of fuel does your car run on?
ex> I can't run on two meals a day.

Hybrids still only take up a small portion of the market.
* take up a small portion: 작은 부분을 차지하다.
ex> He's so big that he takes up two seats on the airplane.

Drivers can save money on gas, but can also do their part for the environment.
* save money on gas: 연료비를 절감하다.
* do one's part/role: 자신의 역할/몫을 하다.
ex> I try to save money on gas by taking the subway as much as I can.

These vehicles have batteries that need to be recharged regularly.
ex> My laptop's battery life is short and needs to be recharged regularly.

They haven't taken off as much as hybrids.
* take off: 이륙하다, 보편화되다, popular
ex> His business has really taken off since its launch last year.

2. Ice cream takes up about 20 percent of supermarket sales.
3. Everyone has to do his/her part for a good cause.
