10/15 Moving

DIALOG>> I'm calling a door-to-door moving service.

I'm moving this weekend.

Did you finish packing?

I'm calling a door-to-door moving service.

Don't you have to do your own packing though?

They do it for you. They even do the unpacking for you.


RESPONSE>> When did you last move? How did the moving go?

I moved into my new studio several months ago.
* move into: ~로 이사 들어가다.
cf> move out of: 이사 나가다.
ex> He moved into his parents' house again.
* studio:  a small flat/apartment with one main room for living and sleeping in and usually a kitchen and bathroom, 원룸

I called a door-to-door moving service.

The movers came early in the morning.
* mover: 이삿짐 직원, 인부

They first started to pack my belongings into containers.
ex> She packed my lunch in a paper bag.

They then loaded everything onto the moving truck.
ex> I loaded everything onto a tray.

When we got to my new place, the movers unloaded everything from the truck.
ex> She unloaded her luggage from the car.

They unpacked every item from the boxes and put them in the right places.
ex> I unpacked my suitcases last night.

A lady even helped clean up.
* clean up: 청소하다.
ex> I need to clean up my room

Overall, the moving went smoothly, but it was quite an exhausting day.


@ We really hit it off.  우리는 서로 잘 통했어.

1. It took us an hour to load the things onto the car.
2. Five people helped unload the heavy furniture.
3. Be careful not to hurt yourself when you pack gifts.
4. As soon as I got there, I unpacked my suitcase.
