5/5 Talk about Children’s Day in Korea.

May 5th is Children’s Day in Korea. Parents usually plan the day around their children.

They take them out to popular places like zoos or amusement parks.
* take someone out to: ~ ~으로 데리고 나가다
Ex> I took my children out to the zoo last weekend.

There are large crowds near these places. There is a lot of traffic because many families are on the move.
ex> I don’t like to be in place with large crowds.
ex> You can get access to the Internet on the move.

You might be stuck in traffic or in line for a long time.
* be stuck in traffic / be stuck in line: 교통이 막히다 / 줄을 서다
ex> We were stuck in line for an hour for the rollercoaster.

Children typically receive gifts from their parents or grandparents.

All in all, it’s a special day children look forward to.
ex> I am looking forward to the trip with you.

Almost everyone has special Children’s Day memories from their childhood.

I've had a change of heart마음이 바뀌었어.

* coin: (어구를) 새로 만들다
ex> Young people are coining words of their won these days.
