people say that the rain is the tears of the separated couple.

Chilseok is a Korean festival that celebrates the annual meeting of Gyeon-woo and Jik-nyeo.

This bridge is called "Ojakgyo", meaning the bridge of crows and magpies.

The couple was able to meet once a year with the help of Ojakgyo.

When it rains on the seventh day of the seventh month, people say that the rain is the tears of the separated couple.

This bittersweet day is called Chilseok in Korea.

Chilseok is a Korean festival that celebrates the annual meeting of Gyeon-woo and Jik-nyeo.

She was really good at weaving cloth.

She came across a young cowherd named Gyeon-woo just across the Milky Way.

Afterwards, they became lazy and didn't do their jobs.
* do one's job: 임무를 수행하다, 할 일을 하다
ex> Would you please just let me do my job?

He then ordered them to live apart from each other.
* apart: 떨어져, 사이를 두고
ex> They were born only three minutes apart.

Out of pity, he allowed them to meet only once a year.
* out of pity: 불쌍하게 여겨
ex> I can't believe she married him out of pity.

They had no way of crossing the Milky Way.
* no way of: ~할 수가 없음, 방법이 없음
ex> If you don't tell me, I have no way of knowing how you feel.
* the Milky Way: 은하수, 은하계(the Galaxy)

Once upon a time in the heavens, there lived the Jade Emperor.

He had a beautiful daughter named Jik-nyeo. She was really good at weaving cloth.

One day, she came across a young cowherd named Gyeon-woo just across the Milky Way.

She fell in love with him and ended up marrying him.

Afterwards, they became lazy and didn't do their jobs.

When the Emperor found out about this, he was furious.

He then ordered them to live apart from each other.

Out of pity, he allowed them to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar.

However, they couldn't meet each other because they had no way of crossing the Milky Way.
