New Atheism
Now, you don’t have to be a philosopher, a scientist or a theologian to have noticed the growing number of fierce attacks on religion over the past decade. The new atheism, as it’s called, has been exemplified by the books of the geneticist professor Richard Dawkins. But his distinguished colleague Steve Jones, Emeritus Professor of Genetics at University College London, has now written a book that takes on the Bible in a much less confrontational way. The Serpent’s Promise: the Bible Retold as Science examines the basis of a lot of biblical stories in the light of what we now understand about physics and biology.

Woman Survives 17 Days in Bangladesh Factory Rubble 
An unbelievable story out of Bangladesh, where 17 days after that horrifying clothing factory collapse, a survivor has been found. The woman was first spotted waving her hands... well, crews immediately ran to dig her out.
Rescuers say that she apparently had some access to some water and some dried food which ran out on Wednesday. More than a thousand people were killed from that collapse... the worst clothing industry disaster ever.

AK-47 Shootout
It started as a routine traffic stop in rural Ohio. Without warning the driver flings the door open and starts blasting away. It all happened last March but police have only now released this dash cam video. In it, James Gilkerson unloads 33 rounds into a cruiser with his AK-47 style assault rifle. Take another look before the shootout erupted. You can hear how surprised the two officers were, one letting out a scream. Whoa! That officer Erin Thomas was outside the car at the time while her partner Brandon Savage was inside. Both were injured but managed to take cover and returned fire, hitting the 42-year-old who can be heard on the tape saying kill me.

$45 Million Stolen From ATM's 
Now, a new kind of bank robbery with a staggering haul. Thieves making off with 45 million dollars, scarfed up from our ATM machines, one after the other around the world, stealing 45 million with fake debit cards. They even took pictures of the loot and in New York today, prosecutors charged 8 men with withdrawing more than 2 million dollars from the city's ATMs. Bank officials say no customer accounts were compromised.

It's nearly a foregone conclusion at this point that historic monuments and sites in the North Korean city of Gaeseong are going to be added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. A UNESCO report released Monday let the cat out of the bag ahead of the 37th World Heritage Committee meeting in mid-June. Gaeseong was the capital of the Goryeo Dynasty until it was supplanted by Hanseong at the start of the Chosun Dynasty.
