PE 2/5 Using SMS at Work

Actually, your obsession with social networks has gotten in the way of your productivity.

It’s just a minute here and a minute there. Why all the nitpicking?
* nitpick / nitpicky: to criticize because of small, unimportant details.
ex> The judges at dog shows are really nitpicky – there can’t be a single strand of fur out of place.

Cat got your tongue? It’s better that you don’t speak anyway.
* Cat got your tongue?: said when someone cannot speak when they are expected to speak
ex> I said hello, Tom. What’s wrong, cat got your tongue?

But what about everyone else in the office, don’t they have a say in this?
* have a say in: to be one of the decision makers in a matter
ex> I know I’m still in high school, but don’t I have a say in where we go on vacation, mom?

Great! Now there’s going to be a lynch mob after me!
* lynch mob: an angry group of people determined to exact revenge
ex> You’d better run, Sam. There’s a lynch mob coming for you!

Well, you've made your bed, so you've got to sleep in it.
* you've made your bed, so (now) you've got to sleep/lie in it: a way of saying that someone has made bad decisions, so they must now face the consequences

ex> I told you he was the wrong man to marry! But you've made your bed, so now you have to sleep in it.
