PE 4/2 The Break Room Is a Mess!

Have you been in the break room lately? It looks like a tornado went through here!

They shouldn't have to clean up someone’s messy dishes or food left in the microwave. It’s gotten completely out of hand.
* out of hand: no longer controllable
ex> The referee thought the violence at the hockey game had gotten out of hand.

That sounds like a good idea, but I don’t think it’s worth making a big stink about it. Just clean up after yourself and set an example for everyone else.
* make a (big) stink: to complain loudly about something; create/raise a big stink about
ex> My mother used to make a big stink about me leaving my dirty socks on the floor.
* set an example: to act in a way one would like others to act
ex> If you want other people to behave properly, you should set an example for them to follow.

I would have to clean the whole break room! I draw the line at scrubbing out a disgusting refrigerator with someone else’s mess.
* draw the line: to place a limit on the things one is willing to do or tolerate
ex> I can tolerate loud noises from my roommates, but I draw the line at smoking in the house.

We can try to assign different people as monitors for different days of the week. Then we will all keep an eye on each other.
* keep an eye on (something): to watch someone or something; pay attention to

ex> When John works out, he likes to keep an eye on his heart rate to make sure he works hard enough.
