PE 4/3 Vancouver – Stanley Park

Prettier than Central Park? I’ll have to see it to believe it.
* have to see it to believe it: to say something is so unlikely that it must be witnessed first hand in order to accept it
ex> I hope you have pictures of the big fish you caught, because I’ll have to see it to believe it.

Strap on your helmet. Let’s do a lap along the seawall and maybe go off road on some of the trails.

You’re going to wear me out. Let’s do the seawall ride and then see how much energy we've got left.
* wear someone out: to become physically or mentally exhausted
ex> Spending all day shopping will wear most people out, but not my wife.

Okay, but the totem poles and the art of the First Nations people are a must-see.
* a must-see: something extraordinary that one should witness
ex> The new movie with Leonardo DiCaprio is a must-see according to the critics.

Lead the way, Reggie! You seem to know a lot about this beautiful place, so I’m in your hands for the day.
* in one’s hands: allowing someone else to guide you or to make all the decisions
ex> I put myself completely in my instructor’s hands when I learned how to swim.

Well, I’m not taking my helmet off and letting him draw my hat head, so he’d better be good at drawing bikes too!
* hat head: the state of one’s hair after wearing something on the head for a while
ex> His hat head was so bad, he had to wash and dry his hair to make it look right.
