10/9 Hangul Day

According to many prominent linguists, Hangul is the most logical writing system in the world.
* prominent: 저명한, 유명한
* linguist: 언어학자
* logical: 논리적인
ex> His reasoning sounded very logical to me.

This great invention certainly deserves to be commemorated.
* deserve: ~할 자격이 있다. ~의 가치가 있다
ex> I think she got what she deserved.  (자업자득이다)
ex> He deserves more credit for his work.

It's the way we celebrate the creation and the proclamation of Hangul.
* proclamation  [|prɑ:klə|meɪʃn]: 선포, 선언, 공표
ex> The president issued the proclamation of war.
ex> a proclamation of independence

As you may already know, Hangul was created in 1443 by King Sejong the Great and his scholars.
ex> As you may already know, she graduated from Harvard.

It's interesting to note that Hangul is the only writing system where the creator, as well as the year of its creation, is known.
ex> It's interesting to note that he has never been to English-speaking countries before.
