Talk about English classes
you took back in school.
One of my favorite subjects back in school was English. I really
liked my English classes and teachers. I think we had four to five classes a
week. English was a mandatory subject
and it was one of the subjects in the Korean SAT. We learned grammar and we were tested on reading and listening
skills during our mid-terms and finals. In college, we also had to brush up on our speaking skills.
Companies these days require speaking test scores. That's why many people are
taking speaking tests scores. That's why many people are taking speaking tests
such as OPIc. Meanwhile, students these days start learning English as a
subject from third grade. Many students also learn English outside of school at
language schools. There are many
outline courses or phone-based programs that offer various programs.

~에 대한 실력을 갈고 닦다
영어에서 실력을 갈고 닦는다는 의미로 brush up on이라는
표현을 쓴다. 기존의 실력을 좀 더 향상 시켜 좋게 만든다는 의미이다.
