* come
out with something: to issue or release something
ex> I wonder when they’ll come out
with a robot vacuum that will clean furniture too?
* be
laughing: to be in an appealing situation
ex> If our relay team can improve our
time by just ten seconds, we’ll be laughing.
Note> If someone “is laughing all the
way to the bank,” it means that someone has made a lot of money very easily,
especially because someone else has been stupid.
* deluxe:
luxurious; superior in quality
ex> The car’s price increased
substantially when all the deluxe options were added.
* dream
big: to have bold hopes and ambitious
ex> My parents encouraged me to dream
big and not be afraid to make mistakes.
* keep
track of something: to actively monitor or record something
ex> There are so many kittens in the
video that I can’t keep track of them all!
* make
someone spin[roll over] in one’s grave: to do something that would offend a
specific dead person
ex> I sometimes wonder if America’s founders
are spinning in their graves.
Note> This phrase is an exaggeration
of the fact that when somebody is uncomfortable, it is common for them to shift
their weight, or roll over if they are sleeping. This idiom implies that
someone would be so upset by something that they would roll over, even though
they are dead.
* content: 내용, (인터넷상의) 정보
The noun form of content can be a source
of confusion. When one is describing the physical objects inside a container,
then content is pluralized by adding “s,” as in “the contents of the toy box.” However,
when content refers to the intangible
substance of a movie, website, or any other medium, it is treated like a
collective noun, and doesn’t use an “s.”
ex>
To learn to integrate a website’ aesthetic design with the tone of its content.
