PE 2/18 Jumping into the Job Market
1. put ~ behind: 접어 두다, 잊어버리다
ex> You have to put past failures behind you and try something new!
2. learn the ropes: 익숙해지다, 터득하다
ex> When you start a new job it can take longer than you expect to learn the ropes.
3. keep plugging away at: ~을 꾸준히 하다
ex> She is very determined. Night after night she stays late and keep plugging away at her research.
* shape up: (특히 좋은 방향으로) 되어 가다, 전개되다 ex> Our plans are shaping up nicely.
cf> shape up or ship out: 열심히 제대로 하지 않으려면 나가라.
* lead: 실마리, 단서 ex> The police will follow up all possible leads.
* stack against: ~에 불리하게 쌓여가다 ex> The odds are stacked against him.
