6/22 Why are you proud to be a Korean?

Korea has developed into an international powerhouse in a short amount of time.
* international powerhouse: 세계적인 강국
* in a short amount of time = in a short period of time
ex> The couple became serious in a short amount of time.

South Korea is one of the strongest economies in Asia.
ex> One of the strongest economies in the world is currently going through touch times.

Korean brands, especially in the field of electronics, are recognized worldwide.
* be recognized: 인정받다.
ex> That company is recognized worldwide in the fashion industry.

Korea has played host to many international events, including the G20 Summit.
* play host to: ~을 개최하다.
ex> He has often palyed host to many dinner parties at his house.

I'm especially proud when I see my fellow Koreans doing well in their fields.
* fellow Korean: 같은 한국인, cf> fellow guest,
ex> There are various groups in colleges abroad that link up fellow Koreans together.

Several Korean actors are getting their foot in the door in Hollywood as well.
* get one's foot in the door: ~에 입문/진출하다.

1. Samsung and Apple are brands recognized worldwide.
2. It feels great to see fellow Koreans overseas.
3. He finished reading the book in a short amount of time.
4. I feel relieved to see him doing well.
