Talk about sanhujoriwon in Korea.

My sister just had her second baby recently and it's another boy!
* have one's baby: 아기를 낳다
ex> She had her third child yesterday.

She told me that it wasn't as scary as the first one.
* as scary as: ~만큼 무서운
ex> It's not as scary as it looks.

Go figure!
* go figure: 당연하다, 이해가 안 된다

A few days after her delivery, she left the hospital and was administered to a postpartum clinic or sanhujoriwon.
* administer: 들어가다, 입소하다
* postpartum: 산후의
ex> I was administered to the hospital.

In Korea, it is not uncommon for a new mother to spend about two weeks at sanhujoriwon in order to recuperate.
* recuperate [rɪ^|ku:pəreɪt]: 회복하다, 되찾다[만회하다], = recover
ex> She's recuperating at her mom's house.
ex> He hoped to recuperate at least some of his losses.

Traditionally, Koreans believe that women after childbirth become very weak and need intensive pampering.
* pamper: 소중히 보살피다
ex> He's in the intensive care unit right now.

In the old days, new mothers would go to their parents' house for their childbirth recovery.
ex> In the old days, people cleaned their teeth by chewing on twigs.

Today, sanhujoriwon provides traditional care for mothers and babies.
