I remember a time when I was trying to cook a Korean stew.
First I boiled some water with some anchovies
in it.
* anchovies: 멸치
ex> I added anchovies to make
it taste better.
ex> Anchovies are a key
ingredient when you cook Korean stews.
While the water was boiling, I cut up some potatoes, onions, zucchinis and some tofu.
* cut up: 자르다
ex> Make sure to cut up the
ingredients before you put them in the water.
I put them in the water with some soybean paste. I boiled the stew for about 15 minutes.
Then I tasted it, but it was too salty.
ex> Eating salty foods is not
good for your health.
cf> bland: 싱거운, 밍밍한
I think I overcooked it and put in
too much soybean paste.
* overcook: 너무 오래 익히다
ex> I don’t like noodles that are overcooked.
I added
some more water to the stew to make
it less salty.
I think putting the right amount of ingredients and spices is the most important thing when it comes to cooking.
* ingredient / spice: 재료/양념
ex> That restaurant always uses fresh
ingredients.
ex> The dish was seasoned with
various spices.
@ Here, taste it. 여기 맛 좀 봐.
