PE 3/7 Florida for Spring Break? I Don’t Think So!

Have you got a screw loose? What makes you think you’re going anywhere without your mother or me?
* have/get a screw loose/loose screw: to think irrationally; be crazy
ex> You’d have to have a loose screw to want to jump out of an airplane.

First of all, you are only 17 years old and second of all, I’ve seen on TV what kind of shenanigans go on down there!
* shenanigans: mischievous activity or conduct
ex> The man who ran the game at the fair was accused of shenanigans because no one ever won a prize.

Dad! Don’t be so old fashioned. All of my friends’ parents are letting them go.

You’re not going to embarrass me with my friends! I’ll never hear the end of it!
* never hear the end of: to be reminded of something constantly
ex> After Todd missed the easy basket in the final game, he knew he would never hear the end of it.

What’s gotten into you? It seems like just the other day you were playing with dolls with your friends.
* What’s gotten into someone?: what has caused someone to act or talk in a certain way
ex> What’s gotten into Susan? I only asked her if she had a nice weekend.

But you have to have at least one adult going. And that’s that.
* that’s that: there is nothing left to discuss; nothing can change the outcome or decision
ex> When the CEO makes up his mind about something, that’s that.
