* pull the trigger: to take action on a decision

ex> Don’t pull the trigger on that new car until you’ve carefully considered its long-term effects on your finances.

* come to think of it: as I now recall

ex> We should choose a different gift because she already has a basketball, come to think of it.

* lose one’s shirt: to lose most or all of one’s money

ex> My parents invested heavily in a mutual fund and lost their shirts.

Note> Losing one’s shirt would happen when one lost all their money gambling, and had no choice but to bet the clothes they were wearing.

* makeshift: a temporary and imperfect substitute for something, made from available materials.

ex> We used cardboard boxes as makeshift furniture for the first two months we lived there.

* bananas: 미친, 열광한, 흥분한

This is a slang expression that should only be used in a casual context. It is generally used to refer to a temporary state of mind, rather than a permanent mental problem.

ex> Who knows? Just when I think I can depend on her, she goes a little bananas.
