I just love how this movie is written.

However, this is more than just a story about prison.

The movie tells you that only hope can set you free, and your soul can never be imprisoned.
One of the most memorable scenes is when Andy plays a record of Mozart's opera, the Marriage of Figaro, over the prison's PA system.
