3/11 Hospice


* terminally ill patient: 말기 환자, 시한부 환자
* ultimate; 최후의, 최종적인
ex> She made the ultimate sacrifice.

* final phase: 마지막 단계
* dignity: 존엄성
ex> You should act with honor and dignity.

* one's last days: ~의 말로, 마지막 날들
ex> Her last days were peaceful.
ex> I don't want these  to be my last days.

* meet the needs: 요구에 응하다
* cope: 대처하다, 대응하다
* tranquility: 평온함 a) tranquil [|trӕŋkwɪl] ex> the tranquil waters of the lake

* days are numbered: 시한부이다, 얼마 남지 않다
ex> The old man's days are numbered.
ex> His days as leader of the party are numbered.

* departure: 떠남, 임종
* come to terms with: 1)learn to accept something that is difficult or unpleasant.  (좋지 않은 일을) 받아들이는 법을 배우다  ex> He finally came to terms with his father's death.
2) 타협하다, 합의에 이르다

* notion [|noʊʃn]: an idea or belief about something. 개념, 생각  ex> I have to reject the notion that greed can be a good thing.


@ I don't think the patient will make it through the night.
Don't be so negative.  그리 부정적으로 생각하지 마.
