1. knock on wood: 기원하다, 행운을 빌다
ex> I think I will be  getting a raise today; knock on wood!

2. hold one's horses: 잠시 기다리다, 서두르지 않다
ex> He needs to learn to hold his horses. His impatience always causes problems.

3. run[go] off half-cocked: to take a premature or ill-considered action. 서두르다, 생각 없이 행동하다
ex> He has no self-control. He's always running off half-cocked!
ex> Make sure non of your men go off half-cocked and ruin this operation.
