A dolmen, or goindol in Korean, is a tomb made of three stone slabs.

These prehistoric burial monuments are situated mostly in Gochang, Hwasun, and Ganghwado.

The relics give clues to the society, beliefs, and culture of prehistoric Korea.

The relics give clues to the society, beliefs, and culture of prehistoric Korea. Dolmens have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and are protected by the Government. As such, the monuments have been mostly untouched since their excavation. Much care is taken in their conservation and protection from natural decay.
