9/26 Haeinsa

Haeinsa is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Buddhism and one of the three largest temples in Korea.

It houses the Tripitaka Koreana.

This is an extensive collection of Buddhist texts from the 13th century.

The Janggyeong Panjeon preserves the Tripitaka Koreana.

The woodblocks were originally carved during the Mongol invasions as a way to seek protection.
