PE 9/10 Steve Jobs Speech - Part 2

But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out.
* diverge: 갈라서다, 나뉘다
* falling out: a disagreement that splits two people or groups apart
= disagreement, altercation, quarrel, dispute
ex> A falling out at the Vatican led to a split in the church that lasted for most of the 14th century.

What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.
* devastating: painful or destructive
ex> The devastating punch sent the boxer crashing to the floor.

I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me.
* let someone down: to fail someone; give someone bad news
ex> I let my family down when I told them I was dropping out of school.
* baton [bə|tɑ:n]: 배턴, 지휘봉

But something slowly began to dawn on me - I still loved what I did.
* dawn on:  to occur to someone; realize suddenly
ex> Last night it dawned on me that my presentation to the board was tomorrow and I wasn't prepared.
ex> Suddenly it dawned on me that they couldn't possibly have met before.

I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me.
* turn out: to result in, often occurring as a surprise
ex> As it turned out, the fish he caught was a world record tuna.
