PE 7/7 First Time Camping in the Wilderness

We came here for a little R&R, not to lose our heads about imaginary bears. And there aren't any lions on this entire continent except in zoos.
* R&R: rest and relaxation
ex> After this busy week at work, I need a little R&R!
cf> “R&R” can mean the following different things:
 Read & Review (in publishing)
 Rest & Recuperation (in military)
Rescue & Resuscitation (in surf lifesaving)
* lose one’s head: to no longer have control over one’s reactions to things
= lose one’s minds; go crazy; flip over
ex> I lost my head when my brother told me he crashed my car.

Give me the flashlight, Rex. I’m going to put an end to this silliness right now. If there were a bear outside, we would have smelled it before we heard it.
* put an end to: to cause something to stop happening
ex> The sales manager put an end to employees making personal phone calls while at work.

I've been roughing it in the wilderness since I was a little girl. And I’m sure we followed all the procedures for keeping wildlife away from the campsite.
* rough it: to go into a wild area without any provisions, like a tent
ex> My friend and I roughed it on our trip to Europe this summer.

Well, it’ll give you a fighting chance, and maybe give me time to run away while you’re screaming bloody murder.
* scream bloody murder: to yell as though someone were being killed
ex> The woman screamed bloody murder when the man tried to steal her purse.
ex> It sounded like someone was screaming bloody murder, but it was only a howling cat.
