PE 6/30 We’re Going to Miss Our Flight!

Don’t throw in the towel just yet. Put on your clothes and grab your bag. You can do your makeup in the car and we’ll get coffee and food at the airport.

Look, we don’t have time for that. If we miss our flight, we might not be able to get another one today or tomorrow. Get your shoes on, brush your teeth, and let’s get this show on the road.

Jeez, don’t be so bossy. I’m already a nervous wreck! How about this, you put our luggage in the car and I’ll get cleaned up real quick.
* a nervous wreck: a person who is extremely worried
ex> When the plane had to make an emergency landing in the river, the co-pilot was a nervous wreck.

Fine, but I’m leaving in five minutes with or without you, so make it snappy!
* make it snappy: to do something quickly
ex> We don’t have time to waste, so make it snappy.
Note> The word “snappy” means smart and stylish.

Wow, You’re a man on a mission this morning. All right, you win, but I get the shower first when we get to the hotel in Jamaica!
* man/woman on a mission: a person with a definite purpose
ex> After she failed her driving test for a second time, Lauren became a woman on a mission.

I forgot how much of a worrywart you are. Get in the car and we’ll call your brother to come over and double check later.
