PE 7/2 A Lazy Colleague

* be on someone’s dime: to have one’s bill paid by someone else

Lance, you’re basically stealing from the company! When’s it going to sink in that you don’t get a free ride in life?
* sink in: to finally understand something
ex> When is it going to sink in to your thick skull that I don’t want to see your anymore?
* a free ride: a reward without any effort
ex> By the time I started university, I knew the free ride from my parents was over.

I’m starting to regret that I put your name forward when Mr. Peterson asked me who I thought would benefit most from this event.
* put something forward: to confidently suggest something
ex> We put forward our ideas to the personnel department about improving company morale.

You aren't going to rat me out, are you? Fine, I’ll go to three each day, is that good enough?
* rat someone out: to report someone for their misdeeds
ex> Don’t let anyone find out that you ratted out your brother, or you will lose all respect.
